Crafting Connections Through Culture and Design

Erick Cordova, an emerging graphic designer set to graduate in spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Augsburg University, brings a unique perspective to the world of visual communication. Hailing from the picturesque city of Cuenca, Ecuador, Cordova embarked on a transformative journey, immigrating to the United States at the age of six. Now a resident of New Brighton, he intricately weaves his cultural roots into his artistic endeavors.

Cordova's passion lies in the intersection of minimalistic design, cultural exploration, and the evocation of memory. Guided by these interests, he has crafted a distinct identity for himself as an artist who strives to establish a profound connection with his audience. His creative arsenal includes charcoal and digital mediums, through which he skillfully explores texture, illustrative art, and the rich tapestry of cultural identity.

A notable achievement in Cordova's portfolio is the creation of a compelling logo for "Sembrando Nuestro Futuro," a mentorship program dedicated to guiding first-year students. In this project, he seamlessly blended his artistic prowess with a commitment to fostering connections and growth.

Looking ahead, Cordova envisions a dynamic future in the design realm. Post-graduation, he aspires to contribute his talents to a design firm, where he can continue to refine his craft and engage with diverse projects. Intriguingly, he harbors aspirations of launching a clothing line, seamlessly merging his cultural influences with contemporary design. Alongside his professional pursuits, Cordova plans to embrace the flexibility of freelancing, allowing him to take on projects that resonate with his artistic sensibilities.

Erick Cordova's art serves not only as a visual feast but as a testament to the power of identity, memory, and cultural expression. Through his work, he invites you to explore the intricacies of his journey and the universal threads that connect us all.
